Sharla Gunn

Since 2009, Sharla has performed an integral role in the day to day operations of the firm by assisting the firm’s Managing Member, Tom Montgomery. Her role includes business development as well as working alongside Tom regarding strategic growth initiatives, coordination of investment forums and working alongside many of their portfolio companies.  In addition to Sharla’s daily responsibilities, she has taken the lead on a variety of challenging firm-wide projects. Sharla is active in the community and currently serves as the Engagement Captain for Communities Foundation of Texas, receiving the 2016 EFNT/CFT Engagement Captain of the Year Award.  She is also the Community Relations Coordinator for MLK Childcare Group, receiving their 2016 Volunteer of the Year, City House, Inc., Children’s Health and Minnie’s Food Pantry.  Sharla is also the 2016 recipient for the Community Champion from the Dallas Admins Awards.

Tom Montgomery

Tom Montgomery was the Founding Partner of MCG and is currently the Managing Member of MCA. His primary disciplines include advanced tax planning and transactional services, including mergers, acquisitions, debt/equity financing for both public and private companies, and strategic and operational planning for large and medium sized businesses.

Prior to forming MCG, Tom was responsible for starting and growing Beal Capital Markets, Inc., an investment subsidiary of Beal Bank, specializing in both public and private corporate finance products. When he left, Beal Capital Markets had invested in excess of $2 billion in a diversified portfolio of high yield bonds and direct company investments.

Prior to joining Beal Capital Markets, Mr. Montgomery was the founding and managing partner of Montgomery Baggett & Drews LLP, a full-service CPA firm in Dallas with 25 professionals (“Montgomery Baggett”). Mr. Montgomery’s primary activity with Montgomery Baggett was serving companies in tax, merger and acquisition, and financing transactions.

Mr. Montgomery is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated from Texas Tech University with a Masters of Science in Accounting and Taxation in 1981. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Larry Calton

​William joined Montgomery Capital Advisers in 2018 and returned to the firm in 2022 after two years in the Transformation Office of Brinks Home Security as that company went through its restructuring. He is currently a VP responsible for evaluating investments, performing due diligence, and performing post-closing consulting. William works closely with Montgomery Capital Adviser’s deal managers, analysts, and portfolio companies throughout the deal process. He leverages his experience to improve the investment evaluation and due diligence process and to increase the value of the post-closing consulting that Montgomery Capital Advisers provides to portfolio companies. William received his B.A. in Business Administration with honors from the American University in Beirut, Lebanon in 2009, and received his M.B.A from IE University in Madrid, Spain in 2014. He is currently a CFA Level III candidate.

Carlos A. Lacayo

Carlos joined Montgomery Capital Advisers in February 2019. He was previously associated with Citi, where he most recently worked as a credit and structuring specialist focused on middle-market and mid-corporate clients in the general industrials sectors. From 2002-2005 he was a financial analyst in  Citi’s Mergers and Acquisitions and Technology Investment Banking Departments , where he evaluated and executed a number of strategic M&A and securities underwriting transactions. From 2005-2009 he held various roles at Citi in treasury, strategy, financial planning and analysis, and audit and credit risk review. Immediately after graduating from business school, Carlos worked at Nomura Securities as an associate in Emerging Market Fixed Income Securities, before rejoining Citi in a credit and structuring role in 2012.

Carlos received his B.A. in Economics from Davidson College in 2002. He received his M.B.A from New York University’s Stern School of Business in 2011, with specializations in Corporate Finance, Quantitative Finance and Management.

Larry is an executive manager and licensed CPA (TX) with over 28 years of diverse experience earned in a variety of industries and roles.  He joined Montgomery Capital (MCA) in September 2015 as a deal principal and manager.  

Prior to joining Montgomery Capital in 2015, Larry was a senior management consultant and financial advisor to owner-managed business clients ranging in size from $2-50 million in revenue.  His advisory work included fractional CFO services, operational consulting, strategic planning, merger decision support and business plan development and execution.

In 2002, Larry raised $2 million to found and launch NTEC, a regional medtech-focused incubator accelerator, through a public-private partnership with the City of Frisco.  Over the next 10 years, NTEC became the largest medtech incubator in the southwest, supporting the growth of 60 companies and helping them raise over $20 million in venture funding.  

Prior to NTEC, Larry spent 4 years working for KPMG in their Technology Practice and 10 years as a manager and commercial, middle market, banker for Comerica Bank - Texas.

Myra Flick

Myra Flick is an Accounting Manager at Montgomery Capital Advisors who joined the company in April 2017 to primarily focus on the fund companies accounting and reporting but also provide various levels of accounting consulting to our clients as a value-add service.
Directly out of college Myra stated working for the Fossil Group while also earning her post graduate Masters of Business Administration with focus in Accounting. At Fossil she learned to assist with full cycle general ledger close, standardized corporate policies and procedures, fulfill auditor request and tie, foot and analyze SEC Reports required for public companies.
After Fossil, Myra joined Montgomery Coscia Greilich where she maintained a book of 30 clients providing various accounting services from book-keeping to interim Controller/CFO roles for startup to established companies across various industries. After MCG, Myra joined Cardtonics, a publicly traded company whose growth was outpacing current practices to specialize in revenue recognition, implement model processes and procedures and lead accounting clean-up projects.

Amy joined MCA in 2019 to perform fund accounting, as well as, other administrative responsibilities for the company.  She works directly with Myra, Sharla and others (as well as clients) to support them as needed.  Amy has a BBA degree in finance from UNT and for 10 years was a certified retirement planner with Copeland Companies (a division of CitiGroup).  After Copeland, she took a few years off to focus on her family and during this time held several volunteer leadership positions.
